   ......พระพุทธศาสนา คือ คำสั่งสอนของพระพุทธเจ้านั้น  เมื่อกล่าวโดยย่นย่อก็คือสอนให้รู้ถึงความจริงของชีวิต คือ เรื่องทุกข์ อันเป็นธรรมชาติของชีวิต และความดับทุกข์ อันเป็นเป้าหมายหรือผลอันพึงประสงค์ของชีวิต เมื่อกล่าวโดยหลักกว้าง ๆ ก็คือ สอนให้เว้นชั่ว ทำดี ทำจิตใจของตนให้บริสุทธิ์ และเมื่อกล่าวโดยหลักปฏิบัติก็คือ สอนให้ปฏิบัติในศีล ปฏิบัติในสมาธิ ปฏิบัติในปัญญา ทั้งนี้ก็เพื่อผลคือประโยชน์สุขของพหูชน หรือเพื่อประโยชน์สุของชาวโลกทั้งมวล...
